I love this set of Candlelight photo's. I'm trying to re-create the style but can't seem to get the areas around my subject as dark as yours. Would you please spare the time to point me in the right direction.

I use black stretch velvet for all of my dark backgrounds - it totally absorbs any light and doesn't reflect anything back into the camera, so I'm always left with a nice black void. The absolute only light source for these images was the one candle flame - made for a lot of blurry images, but I learned to stay absolutely still for longer exposures.

I adore how there is a brink of subtlety in this one. I don't now how to explain it, but it's there. Also, the pose is perfect. Your figurative work is becmoing more and more organic in my opinion. :)
