No work today. It's sunny. I'm putting off doing my dishes and taking photographs instead, in my dirty kitchen. XD
I chose the name "Fallen Angel" for this series because "Pitiful" just seemed... well, pitiful? (Just wait until you get to the crying ones!)
Photograph of me, taken by me on December 4th, 2007.

Yeah, I meant Cindy's early work. I don't care so much for the stuff she did in the late eighties and nineties, and to be honest I don't really know what she's done more recently. Her stuff from the seventies/early eighties is really great. You make really great self portraits which is a wonder why you let others manipulate them. They belong in a gallery. And, I am sure people do interesting things with them most of the time. Hell, I've drawn one or two of your stock photos but I think to photoshop an image is a different intention. But, I often toy with the ideas of putting some of my nature shots in a stock account but then I recant because its like letting a stranger spank your child. Maybe someday I'll change, who knows.
Learning about Cindy Sherman in my photo class in college really gave me a push to continue with self-portraiture because I realized I could go somewhere with it. I was worried, early on, that I'd just be thought of as a vain MySpace generation e-loser or something. XD
I feel silly keeping these images to myself. It's great to see what other people can make with them, and honestly...? I've had my photos swiped so many times in the past I figured it would just be easier to label them as free for use. Since I've gotten so involved in stock on dA, I've had more people actually ASK permission to use my work than before, when they shouldn't have been using it in the first place. It's weird that way.
When I eventually get myself a better camera, I will be saving more photos for myself, which will be printed and eventually (hopefully!) shown in a local gallery. But my current camera can't provide images that are good enough for even 8x10 printing - so there's no reason for me to horde all my work for myself. There's not really anything I can do with the images I take - I just enjoy taking them.
