Paint XIV by fetishfaerie-stock Paint XIV by fetishfaerie-stock
Part of a series. It's black Halloween paint, and I had a hell of a time washing it off.
Photo taken by me, of me, September 11, 2005.

If you use this photograph and post the resulting image anywhere on the internet, please put my name on the page and/or link to me, and note me and let me know.

12/10/05 - Holy crap! A DD! <3<3<3<3<3
Thank you everyone for looking at my stock.
I'll respond to comments ASAP - but I'm in the process of moving out and won't have internet much in the next few days. :P

This entire series with the paint is the most awesome thing in your gallery, in my opinion. And that really is just my preference, no comment on the coolness of any other work. : ) Good job.

Thank you. I want to revisit the paint idea again, but only if I find paint that will not require so much scrubbing that I lose skin ... and I'd like someone else to photograph it, as I got paint all over my camera last time. lol

Heek. Ruined not your camera, I hope?

Hrm. So was it greasepaint for theatre, or tempera? Grease paint comes off easy with baby oil.

My camera has stood the test of paint, fake blood, and being used not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES in the shower. XD I haven't killed it yet. Thank goodness!

I wish I had known that about the baby oil. ^-^ I figured soap would suffice.

Sadly, no, I think it's meant to resist solvents. But the base is oil, so oil liquifies and wipes it off. I learned this by doing printmaking for years. Oil-based inks come off awesomely with baby oil but no so with anything else. And it worked on theater make up, too, strangely. So... yay! Next time, you'll know. : )

Thrice submerged, daubed and dripped! Sounds like your camera has adventures as crazy as the characters in a Jules Verne story.

This is great, but, can I tell you, I was a little disappointed this was DD'd?
I found one of your amazing stocks on my recent deviations home page, and I wanted SO BADLY to suggest it for a DD...but, since the work was so amazing, I knew I would have to check first to see if you had received a DD already...and, alas.

Well, grats. You do amazing work.

One of the reasons I decided to go with black paint was because I knew it would contrast well with my hair. .. that and I already owned the paint and already had a black velvet cloth I could use for a background. XD I really just use whatever I have laying around the house. Most of my work is entirely spontaneous - planning time is just me rummaging through drawers and closets. ;)

I really like how everything goes together... your hair and skin are so light and the black is really intense and messy. The hand print and little messy finger streaks are really cool, especially the ones down your bottom lip. I dig that half of your face is mostly black. I like that half and half kinda thing so this really appeals to me. Your hand in your hair makes me happy too. This shot is awesome. +fav

Thank you so much! I put a lot of thought into my paint, although I tried to keep it as random as possible. But I knew I wanted a lot of black on at least one side of my face, especially around an eye, so I could get that.. glaring contrast. (No pun intended. lol)

HAHA no prob. Yeah, once again... Your gallery is great. It's also become a magnificent ref for my art. Especially the growling, snarling pics and downward or upward looks... and your curled up poses. Those are especially difficult to draw because I have a hard time lining up the spine and making it look right with the limbs and such... ribcage... BAH! XD

Anyhow, thanks for providing as a good ref. LOL that sounds wierd, but it sounded wierder to not thank you... (does that even make sense? XD)

^_~ keep it up!

Very unusual, very interesting. Next time use powders, or liquid latex. Liquid latex is very fun, you can also blend with it to get more earthy muddy colors, or whatever your choice be. It does tend to run a little expensive however..

And once again I am reminded of the song "Africa" by Toto. Which is not a bad thing to happen...

I find that shampoo works well with washing off stubborn, greasy stuff like gear oil and axle grease.
