Artist's Comments

Part of a series. It's black Halloween paint, and I had a hell of a time washing it off.
Photo taken by me, of me, September 11, 2005.

If you use this photograph and post the resulting image anywhere on the internet, please put my name on the page and/or link to me, and note me and let me know.

Thank you everyone for looking at my stock.
I'll respond to comments ASAP - but I'm in the process of moving out and won't have internet much in the next few days. :P

^^ I can imagine the strugle to wash off that paint, but I'm really amazed to see this serie, Natalie :rose:
Difficoult to choose a fav, but even here's alot of the Natalie we've seen before, also something new and primitive with a fine intense expression :)

My face is still raw today under my right eye from scrubbing off the paint. lol But I'm very pleased with the results.
I was tired of pretty Natalie - I wanted something a little grungier, a little more artistic - and I think I achieved that. Perhaps I should have played around with expression more (my few "snarl" shots didn't work out so well), but I'm still content with what I have.
I don't think I would work with paint again like this - at least not in the near future. But mud might be fun. lol ... although I'd have to do those outside. I'm still wiping paint off of things in my room. ;)

Thank you! :)
You're welcome :) -Hmm, mud? That would be then outside to avoid a massive cleaning operation, but soon it's pretty cold to do it there... Some fullbody "aboriginal style" mud dancing?! That would be awesome ;) ... These paint shots turned out well and it's not easy to do it alone - it's pretty nervous and "unpersonal" to find expression with a camera, but the paint didn't make you less pretty, just different on an inspiring way... Have a wonderful week, Natalie :rose:

I like the contrast between the blck of the paint, the blond and your (beautifull) eyes.... Nice idea on this series... this one is the one I like more!!

Just a wee critics... (don't take this bad, ok?) the little "burned" overexposure of the left side.. maybe a little bit to close to the light... and you loose a bit of details... but hey!! I like also like this!!!

I find I can actually get more personal with a camera than with a photographer - even though one of my best friends sometimes takes photos of me. I guess with a person, I'm always worried they're not interested or they're getting bored or whatever, so I tend to cut myself short a bit. And I can't take myself as seriously with a person right there - or rather, I take myself too seriously? I dont know. lol
Thanks. :)
I don't have much control over the lighting - I can't afford to buy any equipment, so I just use white shower curtains over my windows, which do a decent job of diffusing the sun. The only place I could manage to hang up the black backdrop was right next to the window - so I was sort of stuck. ^-^
One day... one day I will have actual equipment besides my camera. lol
oh? :slow:
The shower curtain as a diffusor? You are a genius!!! That's a great idea!!! :w00t: After this explanations I appreciate 10000time more this shot!!
