I hate to do this...

Fri Mar 21, 2008, 2:39 PM
Sorry I haven't been very active lately - X-MEN Legends II has been sucking out my soul through my eyeballs. Apparently Mr. Sinister has me under his control. XD

But today is a sick day (nothing major, just feeling super-duper tired.. like the dreaded Mono, but it's hit me fast so I'm hoping it'll leave quickly too, and not actually be the dreaded sleeping disease. Argh! Four times is enough.) .. so today I have some time to catch up on things. DA being one of them. I have sooo many manipulations and paintings waiting for comments and faves, and I apologize to you artists if I've left you feeling neglected. All the notes are still sitting here, and all the other messages and comments....

Which brings me to what I hate to do. Ask for help. :P My subscription has run out again, which means no more featuring work in my journal.. no more quickly seeing comments so I can respond at a reasonable rate. While Phil (my boyfriend) has offered to buy me a subscription, I hate to accept it from him because he only works part time and that money is better used towards buying us groceries and paying electric bills.

In exchange for a one year subscription, I would be more than happy to mail a high-quality color 5"x7" print of any photo here in my stock gallery (unless it involves a model other than myself), or any photo of me or something non-human from my photo gallery. [link] (I've made contractual agreements with my models that I wouldn't use the photos I've taken of them for anything but portfolio purposes...)
Phil's mother was very sweet this past X-mas and re-gifted a brand new HP photo printer to me, and I am positively astonished at the quality of prints it has produced.
As a way of saying thank you, I would also feature your gallery in my next journal entry.

.. I've been putting off this request for weeks now. Sometimes I'd rather face an angry orc than ask for help. It's almost unhealthy. :P

.. off to bond with the couch again. My cat is LOVING the convalescence.

RULES FOR MY STOCK:

You may use my stock photography for just about anything. But here are my few rules:

1. Anywhere you post artwork or images which use my stock photography, you MUST include my name (Natalie Paquette) or my user name (fetishfaerie) in the image itself, or in the description of the image. If you're posting it outside of dA, find a handy way to do this, please. It would be fantastic if you could link back to me here, or include my email address (fetishfaerie@aol.com) as well.

2. Note me if you use one of my stocks. I want to see what you people can make! That's most of the fun of doing this whole thing, anyway.

3. *Updated November 5th, 2006* If you would like to sell an image you've created using my stock, you have my permission to sell it through dA Prints. This applies to all dA artists. However, if you would like to sell prints or merchandise through other means, you must contact me for permission first. Also, if your work involving my stock photography is going to be submitted for publication anywhere (magazines, books, etc.) you MUST obtain my permission first.. and please see rule 4.

4. *New as of December 16th, 2007* If you are using any of my images on commercial products (you must gain my permission first - note or email me for that!), you must provide me with a copy of that product. For example, if you use my work to make your band's CD cover, a book cover, if something gets printed in a book or magazine, etc. you must send me a copy of it. Considering that I provide these images for free, it's the only form of compensation I can think of that would be fair. If you're going to be making money from it, I should too.
** If you put artwork using my stock onto items at the dA store, or on products through websites like CafePress, you do not need to send me the product. I know they make those as-ordered, not in bulk. HOWEVER, if you wish to be so generous I certainly wouldn't say no.
Just contact me for mailing information. Thanks!

Feel better soon!

Communism never looked so cute.
Hell, I feel like you've already done enough work for me that I owe you at least that much. Would you mind if I pitched in? :please:

Feel better.
And a fun fact about mono: you'll always test positive for it. So when you get sick, it might not mean you have mono. Plus it's called mono for a reason. Generally, if it's truly mono for a second time, you'll end up being hospitalized, cuz it's pretty bad.

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me the hell alone.

Say goodbye to gravity, and say goodbye to death. Hello to eternity, and live for every breath
Just have to pass to say:
Mr. Sinister is a pain in the back in that game... Backstabbin' $"&#/$#(($))....
OK.. now that's out of my system, continue with the amazing work...

I've had mono. Hang in there!

Never be ashamed to ask for assistance when you need it. "You have not because you ask not."

And, while it may be more blessed to give than to receive, there are certain points in life where you are stuck being on the receiving end of things. Those are the times I've learned to swallow my pride and allowed others to pour into my life.

Just remember that your friends are not mind readers. So they can't help you with needs they know nothing about!

Wonderful! Time for a celebration....:cheese:! for everyone! Wait...scratch that...:cheese: for no one...
That can be just as much of a celebration, if you don't like :cheese:. True?
Aww, I hope you feel better soon!! T_T

Dayum, so many people on the ball ready to help you out. Congratulations; you do work hard and you do deserve all the love! :D
I have what's called "recurrent" or "oppertunistic" mono .. if I get run down and sick with something else, the mono laying dormant in my system goes, "Hey hey - time to party!" Sucks. :P Working in a daycare didn't help. XD .. so glad I'm outta there.
